Linxdot miner goes offline every couple of days

Hi,

This is a brand new Rockchip miner that I've owned and operated for less than a month. The last 10 days it has been going offline by itself every couple of days. It is connected by ethernet to Bell Canada wifi, fiber optic and the fastest and best network in the country. There are no problems with wifi when the miner goes offline. Rebooting fixes the problem temporarily.

I tried to run a diagnostic with the Helium app and got the error in the attached pic. I'm writing here as well, hopefully without errors in the hex codes

Characteristic b833d34f-d871-422c-bf9e-8e6ec117d57e read failed for device 08.E9.F6.EF.CC.A5 and service 0fda92b2-44a2-4af2-84f5-fa682baa2b8d

No idea what it means. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Can you give me the miner name for this device? Seems like it might need a manual update from us.

This unit is in perfectly operational condition. So you either need an outdoor antenna kit, or your antenna cables are broken.

The earnings you're getting is about on par with what you can expect if the antenna is behind a thick wall or a window, and some double-glazed windows are worse than walls.

The unit just went back online last night. Before that it didn't do anything for 6636 blocks.

It sits behind a double-glazed window which is my only option. Installing an outdoor antenna is not allowed in my building unfortunately. I am getting a 5dbi indoor antenna though.

But does the double-glazing explain the frequent offline status? Is there a possibility of interference from other devices or wireless tech?

Hi, I have the same problems with my unit. Its always going offline and resets itself for no reason.

Miner name: Melodic Bubblegum Crow

This Hotspot is now syncing to a Helium snapshot - will take around 30 minutes to get a miner height. If this issue persists, please get in touch at [email protected] .

@Casey any idea what this diagnostic error message means:

Could you use the Linxdot Hotspot App and try to reproduce this error? We have a different set of error message which will inform me what the issue is.

BTW I am not able to connect to my miner using the Linxdot app ever since I connected it to the Helium app. Whenever I launch the Linxdot app it send me to a page with a button saying "Link to Helium Wallet" and no other options. I have been using the Helium Hotspot App since. I guess that's a bug in the Linxdot Hotspot App?

Hi zbinkz,

my Miner (Rockchip variant) behaves the same like yours. Every other day or even every 30 minutes it reboots (maybe because of an update, maybe because of missing ressources) and does not come back online. I need to power cycle it often in order for it to get online again.

I have written support MULTIPLE TIMES but they really, really do not solve problems. They try to say its your fault until you give up. Man, please let us together fight against Linxdot.

Do you have a ticket number? Normally when your Hotspot reboots itself, it either means that it was unable to connect to internet for an hour, or that there is a firmware issue.

That is the deeplink function. It redirects you to the Helium Hotspot app for you to approve this link.

Approve what link!!? I just tried it again and it redirected me to the new Helium wallet app (black and white logo) to import my wallet. Did that and everything is fine in the new app, much faster than the old one with the blue and white logo. Looked everywhere and there is no way to "approve" any link. In the meantime the Linxdot app is still stuck on the "Link to Helium Wallet" login page.

To be perfectly honest @Casey the Linxdot app sucks!
