I actually face the opposite, beacons are witnessed quite good. But since 10 days my hotspot haven't witnessed any other hotspot.

In addition there are 2 to 4 days between the sent beacons, which also bit low I assume. I tried different positions, that might be part of the issue. But now it's placed at the same position as it was when last time witnesses were reported. The LoRaWAN LED is only on from time to time. But also at the days when not beacons or witness are reported.

Any ideas?

Is the device indoors - behind a window/wall? On average, we’re seeing a 3x activity increase when you take the antenna outdoors.

Hi i forgot to put my hotspot setup detsils.

It currently has 5 meter lmr 400 cable connected to a 5.8 dbi omni direct antenna outdoors.

It's probably nothing out of the ordinary with beaconing at the moment, but can I have the name of the miner, just to run a diagnostic?

hello Erik, it's Digital Quartz Halibut.

Thank you. yea it might be due to the issue with beaconing right now. but just wanted to make sure.. because I see some hotspots also having my issues. but I also see hotspots that always have 14 witnesses when beaconing.

All seems well on the hotspot side. Do you have a photo of what the view is like from the antenna? I suspect there's a weak joint in your cable setup.

Here's a pic, that's the most I can do for the miner at the moment for an outside setup. Does beaconing and witnessing not work both ways? Can you help me understand what weak joint means? hehe not quite familiar with it. :classic_unsure: I may try to give a better pic later.

A weak joint could be where the cables connect - Antenna to cable, miner to cable, etc. I suspect something there is either faulty or weakly connected.

Yeah, beaconing and witnessing goes both ways, but you don't seem to be witnessing particularly much either. I'd expect a little more with a setup like this ^^.

Maybe i'll try and reconnect the LMR cable to the antenna. and see what happens. Thanks for the insight Erik!

Hi Erik, does bending cables have an effect on this as well?
